
Anne Maureen Barnett, the daughter of James Hadley and Lorena Virginia (Ragland) Easley, was born January 24, 1942, in Langdon, Missouri. She attended Cooper Country School, Langdon, and Rock Port High School, Rock Port, Missouri, graduating in 1960.
On January 24, 1959, Anne was united in marriage to George Edward Barnett at the Rock Port Baptist Church. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. They became the parents of three children, Jeff, Julie, and Jamie, and made their home in Tarkio, Missouri, their entire married life.
Anne was employed by Community Services as a Social Service Aide and later, Tarkio School District as a Teacher’s Aide. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Tarkio. She enjoyed playing Bridge and 10 Point Pitch. Most of all, Anne loved spending time with her family and attending all her grandchildren’s sporting events. Anne passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, at the age of 82.
Besides her parents, Anne was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Bev Barnett; brothers, Gary and Chris Easley; and brother-in-law, Tony Gaines. Survivors include husband, George Barnett, Tarkio; children, Jeff Barnett, Maryville, Missouri; Julie Barnett and Jamie (Melody) Barnett, both of Tarkio; grandchildren, Andrea (Zech) Aubrey, Hadley (Brad) Johnson, and Bree, Jae, and Alex Barnett; sister, Sharon Gaines, Rock Port; sisters-in-law, Emma Easley, Rock Port, and Karen Easley, Fairfax, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Friday, May 31, 2024, at First Baptist Church, Tarkio. Private family inurnment was held at Home Cemetery, Tarkio. Memorials may be directed to the Anne Barnett Memorial Fund. Arrangements were under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
