• At the Fair Theatre: “Wild Harvest” with Alan Ladd and Dorothy Lamour, “Give My Regards To Broadway” with Dan Dailey, and “Adventures Of Casanova” with Turhan Bey and Lucille Bremer.
• Pearce Produce and Hatchery of Fairfax is advertising 25 free chicks for every 100 that you order. The chicks will be the same sex, breed, and grade as the chicks ordered at the regular price. There are several thousand on hand ranging in age from one day to two weeks old, including white rox, Austria whites, leg-rox, and buff orpingtons.
• Harold, four-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. David Phillips, suffered painful cuts and head bruises, a deep gash behind the left ear, and severed muscles in his neck when he was run over by a lister Thursday of last week. Harold had run out to greet his father who was returning from the field.
• Mrs. Wayne Tolby and three children, Joan, Elizabeth, and Lillian, expect to sail this month from New York for Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, where they will join her husband, S/Sgt. Wayne Tolby, who is stationed with the U.S. Army there.

• Rogers Pharmacy in Fairfax is advertising summer specials: Sudden Beauty hair spray, 16 oz. for 79¢; aspirin, 250 tab bottle for 79¢; and Silken Delight foaming bath oil, $1.29 per gallon.
• Kiwanis-sponsored baseball has attracted some 60 youth as the teams prepare for opening games at Tarkio June 6. Each person participating is asked to pay $10 to help defray the cost of insurance, equipment, lights, and coaching expense. Families with three or more children will be charged a $25 fee.
• The Fairfax R-3 School Board has hired Mrs. Bernice Griffey of Omaha, Nebraska, for the position of fifth grade teacher. Mr. and Mrs. Griffey have purchased the home and acreage from Mr. and Mrs. Wayman Park, previously the Daleview teacherage. Mr. Griffey has recently retired from the Singer Sewing Machine Co.
• Nearly 200 pupils, teachers, and helpers attended the Baptist Vacation Bible School or the Union School, representing the Methodist, Presbyterian, and Christian Churches.

• At the regular meeting of the Fairfax R-3 School Board May 20, Kevin Bolton expressed an interest in an alumni newsletter that would go to alumni with information about the school. He has donated $1,000 for a computer to be put in the Library Media Center that can be used by the alumni to maintain records and also to be used by the students.
• The Fairfax R-3 School Board held a special meeting Wednesday, May 26, to accept the resignations of Lionel Brown, Bill Wells, Pat Brown, and Maryalice Staples.
• An article looked back on two deadly tornadoes that occurred outside Fairfax in the last 100 years. The first hit May 30, 1899, and the second hit June 1, 1949, both claiming the life of a Fairfax resident, both following nearly the same path, and both causing widespread damage to the Skellytown (Shantytown) area.
