The Linden Christian Church will hold its annual Cowboy Church service Sunday, June 2, 2024. Sunday School is at 9:00 a.m., with church meetin’ at 10:00 a.m. Cowboys, cowgirls, everyone country at heart, and horse riders are welcome.

Free summer meals for all kids and teens will be available Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. through August 22 at the Tarkio Nutrition Center, 412 Main Street. Meals are free to children under the age of 18 and adults coming with a child can eat free, thanks to Community Services.

Rock Port’s No Hunger Summer will begin Wednesday, May 29, and run through June 14. Cold lunch options will be served in the Rock Port R-II School cafeteria from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Make plans to attend the 30th annual Tarkio Rodeo June 7 and 8 by getting your tickets now at the Atchison County Mail offices at 300 S. Main in Rock Port (M-F 8-12 and 1-5) and 420 Main Street (the Oswald Crow Insurance building) in Tarkio (W-F 9-5 as available). If you buy the tickets ahead of time, the prices are $12 for adults and $8 for youth. Only cash will be accepted at these two newspaper locations, but sales at the rodeo will now include cash and card.
