Thanks to funds provided by the Sandra Henning Memorial and the Spark Good Walmart Grant, the Tarkio Nutrition Center is now growing fruits and vegetables for the daily meals it provides. Raised garden beds were built next to the center and already are producing a number of delicious and nutritious foods. The center is growing tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, onions, cucumbers, and strawberries.
