Denzil Murry Bell, the son of James Lloyd and Dorothy Louise (Murry) Bell, was born July 30, 1933, in Stockton, Missouri. He attended Rock Port High School, Rock Port, Missouri, graduating in 1951. On August 8, 1952, Denzil entered the United States Air Force, serving his country during the Korean War. He received his honorable discharge on August 7, 1956.

On May 25, 1988, Denzil was united in marriage to Thelma D. Cochran in Las Vegas, Nevada. He became stepfather to Kate, Sam, Debbie, Dave, and Ron. They made their home in Rock Port and Dodge City, Kansas, before moving to Falls City, Nebraska, in 2002.

Denzil was employed by Oklahoma Tank Lines as a truck driver, hauling petroleum and oil. He retired in 2000. Denzil enjoyed farming, tractors, riding horses, and gardening. Most of all, he loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Denzil passed away Monday, September 30, 2024, at Falls City Care Center at the age of 91.

Besides his parents, Denzil was preceded in death by siblings, Lois Wade and Marvin Bell. Survivors include wife, Thelma Bell, Falls City; children, Kate (Fred) Blanton, Falls City, Sam Blanton, Papillion, Nebraska, Debbie Fendis, Beatrice, Nebraska, Dave (Lois) Blanton, Bellevue, Nebraska, and Ron (Julie) Blanton, Hutchinson, Kansas; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, and nephews; and sister, Maxine Randall.

Services were held Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port, conducted by Pastor Richard Boettner. Military rites were under the auspices of Ralph Greer American Legion Post #49, Rock Port. Interment was at Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port. Memorials may be directed to Hunter Cemetery.
