In a thrilling conclusion to the regular season, East Atchison secured a decisive victory 54 to 35 over South Holt Friday, October 25. The game showcased East Atchison’s offensive and defensive strength, setting a positive tone as they head into the playoffs.
East Atchison’s ground game was dominant, amassing a total of 291 rushing yards. River Dow led the charge with an impressive 129 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Owen DeRosier also had a standout performance, rushing for 140 yards and adding a touchdown to his tally.
The passing game complemented the rushing attack, with East Atchison accumulating 107 passing yards. Cameron Brooks was a key target, catching two passes for 57 yards and a touchdown. Gabe Harms also made a significant impact with a 50-yard touchdown reception.
Defensively, East Atchison was formidable. Tate Johnson led the team with nine tackles, and Gabe Harms and Bo Peregrine each recorded a quarterback sack, adding pressure to South Holt’s offense. Additionally, Bo Peregrine and Carter Wennihan both recovered fumbles, while Owen DeRosier contributed with an interception.
East Atchison now moves to District 6 action as they travel to Mound City Friday night, November 1.
