Jesse Pronto Merriett, the son of Jesse and Judy (Tunnell) Merriett, was born September 5, 1961, in Bell Gardens, California. He attended Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri.

Jesse owned and operated a truck driving service, where he hauled refrigerated foods. Due to health concerns, Jesse retired in August of 2024. He was a member of the ROC Fellowship Church, St. Joseph, Missouri. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling. Jesse also enjoyed listening to music. Jesse passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024, in Tarkio, at the age of 63.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include siblings, Debbie (Bryan) Hurst, Tarkio, and Jim (Charlotte) Merriett, Omaha, Nebraska; numerous nieces and nephews; and good friend, Yolanda Engstrand, St. Joseph.

Graveside service and interment were held Monday, December 16, 2024, at Home Cemetery, Tarkio, conducted by Rev. Glenn Scott. Memorials may be directed to ROC Fellowship Church, St. Joseph, Missouri.
