Light Night was held with Kirsten Jones, Miss Fairfax for 1992, throwing the switch for the lighted displays in the park. The grand prize winner was the 49’ers Hobby Club, which decorated the stage in the park.
The Fairfax Jr. High girls’ basketball team won the South Holt Tournament. Players include Maranda Beck, Trudy Heitman, Megan Smith, Patty Heitman, Amber Oswald, Brooke Osburn, Julie Hunter, Jodi Hawkins, Tabitha Taylor, Bambi Brown, Theresa Pennel, Courtney Davis, Kimberly Sweatman, Erin Zech, and Sonya Nemyer.

November 30, 1967
Hunter’s Hy-Klas Food Store received a new store front by Everett Wake local contractor and his crew. Beulah Hunter Sundries also received a new store front.
Pete Kincannon bagged an 11-point buck on the last day of gun season in the hills southwest of Fairfax. The animal weighed 235 pounds.

December 4, 1942
Old man winter started his activities early in this section and already there have been several snows and much cold weather. About two inches of snow fell Saturday and Sunday night, and temperatures were low enough to keep it here.
The cast of “Follow Thou Me,” composed mostly of faculty members, is practicing regularly in preparation for the rendition of this religious play in the high school auditorium.
