Kelsey and Nate Chard of Rock Port, Missouri, as well as Community Hospital-Fairfax and all of its staff were excited to welcome baby Kennedy JoAnne Chard to the world at 6:39 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2025. Kennedy is the first baby born at Community Hospital-Fairfax in 2025. She weighed 7 pounds and 2 ounces. Kennedy was also welcomed by her big brother, Jameson Chard, age 3 years.

Kim Lane Brake of Rock Port, Missouri, is the baby’s maternal grandmother. Paternal grandparents are Tim and Donna Chard of Talmage, Nebraska, and the late Kelly Chard of Rock Port. Maternal great-grandparents are Ken and Pat Lane of Rock Port and paternal great-grandparents are the late Gary and Gweneth Powell of Rock Port.

As part of the celebration of being the first baby of the new year born at the hospital, the family enjoyed a steak dinner during their stay provided by the CH-F dietary staff. They also received a gift basket with gift cards from Paula’s Café, Creekside Car Wash, Atchison County Hy-Vee, Burlap and Bows, Flower Mill, and two champagne glasses. The Community Hospital-Fairfax Auxiliary gave $50 worth of baby items, and the baby received a Halo sleep sack that is given to all babies born at CH-F.
