The parents of Tarkio High School seniors have been busily planning for the 2025 After Prom Bash. After Prom parties were originally designed to help keep kids safe during prom time by giving them an alternative to parties that may otherwise have a more deviant flare. While it is understood that one could choose deviance any other day of the year, for this particular day, kids are entertained with positive activities in a safe environment, perhaps motivating them toward better choices in the future. This year, the senior parents are presenting the community with several different ways to help provide that safe party alternative.

Super Bowl Squares will be sold at the Tarkio Activity Center (TAC) on Thursday, February 6, during the East Atchison high school basketball games. Squares may also be purchased through Matt Schlueter via Facebook with Venmo payments to @mschlueter701. If paying by Venmo, please include “Tarkio After Prom” in the payment notes. Squares are $10 each. How the game works is buyers purchase a square with a number on it. At the end of each quarter, if your square matches the last number of each team’s score, then you win. A total of $50 is awarded after quarters 1, 2, and 3 and a total of $100 is the grand prize for the final score. (For example: if the score after the first quarter is Chiefs 14 vs. Eagles 0 and you chose the Chiefs 4 square and the Eagles 0 square, you would win $50.) If you are a winner, you will be contacted following the Super Bowl.

If you would like to donate to this cause, but aren’t interested in participating in the football fun, monetary donations are also being accepted via:

• Mail your donation to: Tarkio Elementary School, c/o Blu Dow, 1201 Pine Street, Tarkio, MO 64491.

Checks should be made out to Tarkio After Prom and all donations will be accepted until February 28. If you choose to donate, your generosity will help pay for things like rental costs for all activities planned, prizes and refreshments so that a memorable adventure can be created for all. Some of the activities planned so far are an escape room, inflatables and possibly a hypnotist.
