One person suffered minor injuries in a multi-vehicle accident in Atchison County Wednesday morning, February 12, 2025. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on northbound Interstate 29 at the 122 mile marker, roughly eight miles north of Watson, Missouri, at 8:05 a.m. A 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by a 51-year-old female from Spencer, Wisconsin, was northbound on I-29 when it struck the rear end of a northbound 2023 Mack box truck, driven by a 23-year-old male from West Valley, Utah. The Jeep pushed the box truck into the rear end of a 2019 Freightliner driven by a 30-year-old male from Bakersfield, California. All three vehicles came to rest on their wheels in the median.
The driver of the Jeep, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Fremont County EMS to Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg, Iowa, for treatment of minor injuries. The other drivers did not report any injuries at the scene. The Jeep Grand Cherokee was totaled and secured on the scene. The 2023 Mack box truck sustained extensive damage and was also secured on the scene. The 2019 Freightliner sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.
The accident was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper C. R. Kinman, who was assisted by the Atchison County Sheriff’s Office and Fremont County Ambulance Service.
