The Atchison County Development Corporation (ACDC) board met February 12, 2025, via conference call. Present were Lori Seymour, Jeff Meyer, Eryn Stepp, Craig Corken, Bob Alldredge, and Jill Davis, board members; and Monica Bailey, director.
The minutes of the January meeting were approved.
The January financials were approved as presented.
Bank Midwest CD #7400 funds were invested in a new 9-month Bank Midwest CD at 3.75% on January 30.
Director’s Report
A membership update as of February 11 was $6,530.
Great Northwest Day was held February 4-5 in Jefferson City. Several Atchison County residents attended and promoted our county through the #TeamAC sports theme, popcorn, and photos of our people. Atchison County representatives visited with Governor Kehoe, Representative Farnan, Senator Black, and other legislators and other state department representatives.
Grants awarded so far this year include:
• BI Grant, Basic, $1,000, Second Amendment Firearms, LLC
• Nonprofit Support Grant, $2,500, Fairfax Fire Department
• BI Grants, 2.0, $2,500 for All American Campground & RV Park
New Business
Tarkio Board of Public Works’ Nonprofit Support Grant application for tuckpointing their building was discussed. Alldredge moved that ACDC approve this $1,318.92 grant. Stepp seconded and the motion was approved.
Community lunches were discussed. They will be March 5 at Tarkio Nutrition Center, March 12 at Dusty Trail, and March 19 at Fairfax Fire Station Community Room.
