The City of Fairfax Board of Aldermen held a regular meeting February 19, 2025. The meeting was called to order by Ryan Kingery, Mayor, at 6:05 p.m. Roll was taken. Also in attendance were: Kameron Woodring, Tabitha Wintz, and Debra Wyatt, aldermen; John Brown, Water Superintendent; Christy Stevens, City Clerk. Visitors were Miles Smith and Crystal Woodring, East Atchison Co-op board members.                              

The tentative agenda was approved.

Visitors/Presentations/Public

Crystal Woodring and Miles Smith, members of the East Atchison Co-op board, were present to ask the city about responsibilities between the city and the school for the upcoming high school baseball season. Starting this year five games will be played at the Fairfax baseball field. Games are to begin at the end of March and tasks need to be assigned to get the ball field ready. The city will continue to mow the field but doesn’t have the extra help to get the field prepped before games. Crystal and Miles will take the information back to their board and further discussion can be set up if needed. They left the meeting at 6:30 p.m.

The minutes of the regular meeting on January 19, 2025, were approved.

Accounts payable was also approved.

New Business

Bill #2025-02 titled: An ordinance of the City of Fairfax, Missouri, revising the water rates for the City of Fairfax was presented to the council and read by title by Ryan Kingery. The aldermen voted unanimously to approve Bill #2025-02. Bill #2025-02 was assigned Ordinance #2025-02-1574

Staff Reports

Terry Miller, City Treasurer, submitted that all accounts are in balance.

John Brown, Water superintendent, reported that he has found new summer help for the season.

Christy Stevens, City Clerk, reported on some emails from city attorney Taryn Henry, and talked to the council about the new water bill postcards.

The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.

The next meeting is March 19 at 6:00 p.m.
