Winners of the Halloween parade were: Preschool – 1st Andrew and Anna Drake, 2nd Whitney Harrington, and 3rd Morgan Kemerling; Kindergarten – 1st Chris Moses, 2nd Samantha Silkett, and 3rd Treyvor Umbarger; First and Second Graders – 1st Keaton Hawkins, 2nd Lacy Moore, and 3rd Harold Ray; Third and Fourth Graders – 1st Jennifer Ray, 2nd Stephanie Sinkhorn, and 3rd Crissy Vance; Fifth and Sixth Graders – 1st Marcy Pennel, 2nd Kaitlin Seymour, and 3rd Jessica Ray; and Open Class – 1st Beth Jacobs, 2nd Jackie Graves, and 3rd Jason Kemerling.
Mrs. and Mrs. Ralph Ball and Katrina and Brice hosted a birthday party in honor of son and brother, Mark’s, 6th birthday. The theme for the party was dinosaurs and guests enjoyed games and a scavenger hunt.

Tom Simmons has recently acquired the interests of Lee Grossman in the Byron-Lee Implement business in Tarkio and has changed the name to Simmons Implement, Incorporated. The implement company offers John Deere sales and service in Atchison County.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Norton, Susan and Janice, were happily surprised Tuesday evening when a group of relatives, dressed in Halloween attire, knocked at their door for “trick or treats.” The real purpose of the visit was to celebrate the 15th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Norton, whose wedding occurred on November 2, 1952. The guests brought a three-tier wedding cake and other refreshments.

A patriotic pageant, “Forward, America,” is to be presented as a feature of the 13th annual Fairfax High School Homecoming this Thursday evening, November 5. Pupils of the eight lower grades will be presented in the pageant in patriotic costumes, music, and dances. Admission – buy a war stamp!
A basket dinner was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hal Burke Sunday honoring Sergeant and Mrs. George Burke of David Monthan Flying Field, Tucson, Arizona, and Mrs. Forrest Parker of Winslow, Arizona.
