A National Honor Society (NHS) induction ceremony was held Wednesday evening, March 12, 2025, at the Good News Church in Tarkio. Nine new members joined 20 others to complete the Tarkio High School chapter. They are Dylan Drummond, Grace Caudill, Bailey Wennihan, Delainee White, Raelee Russell, Parker Livengood, Brody Wennihan, Finn Hurst, and Bo Peregrine. Other members of the group are Cole Anderson, Abbie Harms, Quin Staten, Kennedy White, Zoe Madron, Bresayda Jimenez, Olivia Schaefer, Emily Gebhards, Isaac Vette, Rainy Nordhausen, Jaeka Wiley, Robbie Armstrong, Alyson Wooten, Kamryn Brown, Lizzie Schlueter, Sydnee Bruns, Connor Morton, River Dow, Owen DeRosier, and Gabe Harms. Ellie Graves is the sponsor. The National Honor Society (NHS) is one of the oldest, largest, and most widely recognized cocurricular student organizations in American high schools, with 1.4 million members. Membership is an honor bestowed upon a student by faculty and is based on the four pillars of NHS: scholarship, character, leadership, and service.
