Shannon Bruns was named the FCCLA Region 1 Community Member of the Year for all the support she has shown the members this year and pitching in when needed.

 

Each year, FCCLA members earn points based on activities they participate in. Members who earned the highest points in the chapter this year included, from left to right: Highest Points – Brody Wennihan (award presented by Sydnee Bruns); Second Highest Points – Sydnee Bruns (award presented by Dara Whipple); and Third Highest Points – Grace Caudill (award presented by Sydnee Bruns).

 

The Tarkio High School FCCLA, FFA, and FBLA Chapters held their annual awards ceremony Monday evening, April 21, 2025, in the THS Auditorium. Members and community supporters were recognized for their achievements in their respective organizations.

FCCLA Sponsor Dara Whipple began the ceremony. New officers took the oath of office and all members recited the FCCLA creed. Brody Wennihan was recognized for being named an FCCLA Regional Executive Council Member as Vice-President of Devotion. The participants of Regional and State FCCLA STAR Events were also honored: Bailey Wennihan (a volunteer helper at Regionals), Brody Wennihan, Sydnee Bruns, Taya Windham, and Star Hankins. Star was also recognized for placing third in the state overall in her event. Each year, FCCLA members earn points based on activities they participate in. Members who earned the highest points in the chapter this year included: Highest Points – Brody Wennihan; Second Highest Points – Sydnee Bruns; and Third Highest Points – Grace Caudill. Scholarship Awards were presented to freshman Taya Windham, sophomore Delainee White, junior Jaeka Wiley, and senior Abbie Harms. Kamryn Brown, Abbie Harms, Gabe Harms, and Lizzie Schlueter were also recognized for having earned their State FFA Degrees, which were to be presented at the 97th Missouri FFA State Convention in Columbia. The incoming 2025-26 FFA officers were initiated: Quin Staten, president; Bailey Wennihan and Brody Wennihan, vice-presidents; Taya Windham, secretary; Delainee White, treasurer; Danika Agnew, reporter; Rainy Nordhausen, sentinel; Bresayda Jimenez, chaplain; Macy Stepp,  historian; Jaeka Wiley, parliamentarian; and Finn Hurst, junior advisor. To end the night, the senior members retired their jackets, presenting them to family members. They were Kamryn Brown, River Dow, Jillian Hannah, Abbie Harms, Gabe Harms, and Lizzie Schlueter.
