
Members of the Fairfax High School Class of 2025 celebrated their graduation by throwing their caps into the air and shooting confetti cannons following the commencement ceremony Sunday, May 18, 2025, in the Fairfax High School Gym. Fourteen students earned their diplomas.

The 129th graduating class of Fairfax R-3 School was honored at commencement Sunday, May 18, 2025, in the Fairfax High School Gymnasium.
Members of the Class of 2025 were Lillie Marie Auwarter, Levi Allen Brown, KayDee Ann Duering, Kendall Jonathan Ryan Kingery, Noah Allyn Miller, Cowen Isaiah O’Riley, Bryon Ulrich Ohlensehlen, Grace Catherine Oswald, Ryker Lee Parks, Alicia Esmeralda Ramirez, Quen James Roop, Luke Ryan Swinehart, Clayton Garret Vernon, and Payton Adamae Woodring.
National Honor Society members were KayDee Duering, Kendall Kingery, Cowen O’Riley, Bryon Ohlensehlen, Grace Oswald, Luke Swinehart, and Clayton Vernon.
Class officers were: Payton Woodring, president; KayDee Duering, vice-president; Lillie Auwarter, secretary; Cowen O’Riley, treasurer; and Grace Oswald and Clayton Vernon, student council representatives. Mrs. Jonnie Kemerling was the class sponsor.
The seniors’ class motto was “Class dismissed; future in session.” The class flower was a white tulip and the class color was lavender.
Seniors entered the gym as Suzanne Southard played “Pomp and Circumstance.”
Nick Kemerling, Fairfax R-3 superintendent, welcomed everyone, and Cowen O’Riley gave the senior welcome.
Clayton Vernon and Cowen O’Riley gave speeches thanking everyone for their support through the years.
Seniors and their guests enjoyed a video montage of class memories.
Mr. Kemerling presented the eighth grade class. Eighth grade students are: Deyton Carder Burke, Avery Danyel Fast, Mylisa Jane Folkerts, Brenna Grace Ann Kingery, Riley Bret Koop, Jude Alexander Long, Aliyah Elaine Pearce, Evan Dean Rogers, and Olivia Louise Woods.
The top students of the Class of 2025 were: Kendall Jonathan Ryan Kingery, Cowen Isaiah O’Riley, Luke Ryan Swinehart, and Clayton Garret Vernon, summa cum laude (4.2+ GPA); and KayDee Ann Duering, Bryon Ulrich Ohlensehlen, and Grace Catherine Oswald, cum laude (3.75-3.99 GPA).
Diplomas were awarded to the graduating seniors by Miles Smith, president of the Board of Education.
Mr. Kemerling presented the senior class.
Clayton Vernon gave the senior good-bye and the seniors exited to their class song, “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield.
Junior class escorts were Amelia Larson and Tate Johnson.Attendants were Yvette Prado, Austin Helfers, and Joaquin Hill.
