Wolves end 2025 season at Districts
It was a great season of baseball for the East Atchison Wolves’ high school varsity team. Although the season came to an end in the semi-final game of the Class 2, District 16 Tournament, the senior class recorded the most wins in EA history with a total of 35 and individually, several players set multiple records. The Wolves overall 2025 record was 10-12.
Commentary provided by Coach Devin Albertson:
Senior Owen DeRosier earned 2nd Team All-Conference honors and was a tremendous leader for the team behind the plate as catcher. Owen also set the single season and career record for triples.
Senior Luke Morey earned 2nd Team All-Conference honors and was one to watch at the plate and playing 3rd base.
Senior River Dow also had a fantastic season. He pitched his heart (and arm) out on Friday vs. Northeast Nodaway and would’ve tied the triples record if Owen hadn’t broken it. He missed the game Tuesday, May 20, because he was busy golfing at the Class 1 State Golf Tournament, where he earned 10th place.
Senior Cameron Kephart came back from a near death car crash last year to be a key player to this year’s Wolves’ baseball team.
Senior Gabe Harms turned into an excellent right fielder/1st baseman that the team could count on in the biggest situations.
Junior Tate Johnson also earned 2nd Team All-Conference honors and was a key player to the team’s success.
Senior Alex Erickson was a Highway 275 Conference unanimous pick and led the conference in batting average. He set the EA single season record for singles and stolen bases. Alex also broke the career record for singles, stolen bases and total hits (78). Alex broke the season runs record with 28 and tied career runs with 71 and tied season hits with 29. He was the heart and soul of EA baseball.
