KMA recently announced the 2025 All-KMAland Girls Track & Field Team. Eligible individuals for this team include those from the Bluegrass, Corner, Hawkeye Ten, Pride of Iowa, Rolling Valley and Western Iowa Conferences plus all Council Bluffs schools and all KMAland Nebraska and KMAland Missouri schools.
No individual was selected for more than one event. This created some challenges with putting the team together, but also allots for as many deserving KMAland athletes as possible to claim this honor. This year’s team of 20 features nine repeat selections with eight seniors, nine juniors and three sophomores.
Rock Port’s Norah Watkins was recognized for her accomplishments in the 1600 meter run. The junior 2025 KMAland Missouri Girls Wrestler of the Year snagged some vital team points for the eventual state champion Lady Blue Jays. She was seventh in the 1600 meter run and fourth in the 3200 meter run.
Rock Port’s Ella Meyerkorth was honored for her accomplishments in the javelin throw. The junior is one of KMAland’s repeat selections. The track star of the Meyerkorth family dynasty did a little bit of everything for the 2025 Missouri Class 1 championship team. She was the Class 1 300 meter hurdle champion, took second in the 100 meter hurdles and finished fifth in the javelin and high jump.
