The Rock Port High School Spring Athletic Banquet was held June 5 in the north gymnasium.
Shawn Shineman recognized members of the boys’ golf team. Letter winners included Aricin Weber, Ryland Garst, Malachi Skillen, Tayden Cook (state medalist), Ryzer Hale, Henley Mace, and Brandon Athen.
Thomas Herron presented awards to the girls’ track team. Letter winners were: Avery Meyerkorth (state medalist), Ella Meyerkorth (state medalist), Norah Watkins (state medalist), Jacoby Driskell (state medalist), Claire Miller, Tatum Vogler, Landrey Kelly (state medalist), Audrie Meyerkorth (state medalist), Kinley Lair, Olivia Roup, Braylyn Wood (state medalist), Kennedi Seiter, Jessa Geib, Jaylynn Jones, Raylynn Jenkins, Karlie Gebhards (state alternate), and Talyn Amthor.
The girls’ track team secured their second consecutive state title this May. Eight girls went to state with seven competing and one alternate. The girls scored 64 points on their way to claiming the title. Ella Meyerkorth was recognized with the Stoltenberg Award at the banquet. Ella placed in four events at the Missouri Class 1 State High School Athletic Association Track & Field Meet.
Dalton Jones presented awards to members of the boys’ track team. Letter winners included Bracton Cook (state alternate), Zane Cook, Corbyn Jakub (state medalist), Kendan Melton, Malachi Skillen (state qualifier), Sam Van de Goor, Ryder Herron (state medalist), Dylan Lair (state medalist), Camden McEnaney (state medalist), Desmond Chaney, Westyn Amthor, Gabe Gebhards (state medalist), Case Millsap (state medalist), Logan Ellis, Reid Ellis, and Levi Lucas.
Senior Malachi Skillen was recognized with the Running MVP Award, and Gabe Gebhards received the Field Events MVP Award. Eight boys also went to state for Rock Port, with seven competing and one alternate.
Baseball awards were presented by Chris Millsap. Letter winners were: Izac Hurst, Logan Ellis, Reid Ellis, Westyn Amthor, Zane Cook, Dylan Lair, Case Millsap, Brock Holmes, Rylan Hunter, Corbyn Jakub, Jadyn Geib, and Tayden Cook.
Corbyn Jakub was awarded team MVP. The baseball team won its first district championship title in school history this season.
