The front lawn of the Tarkio Nutrition Center recently received a beautiful renovation called Marvin’s Garden. Marvin Bulger and his wife, Kay, moved to Tarkio several years back and built a new house near the home of their daughter, Jayne Scott, and her husband, Glenn. Marvin was not a Rotarian, but he and Kay supported Rotary activities. Marvin was a wonderful gardener and shared his love for gardening with many people. When Marvin passed away, the Tarkio Rotary Club wanted to honor him in some way so the Marvin’s Garden project was born. Darryl Lowrey was the project leader and with help from fellow Rotarians, Bob Koch and Don White, Marvin’s family, the Nutrition Center, memorials, ACDC, Trudy Baker and other friends, the garden took shape. It is hoped that everyone enjoys the little garden spot in downtown Tarkio. Pictured above enjoying Marvin’s Garden are Tarkio Rotarians, from left to right: seated – Darryl Lowrey and Gary Riley; and standing – Glenn Scott, Jayne Scott, Anita Sutter, Brad Mathers, Bob Koch, Johnnie Davis, Dean Sparks, Casey Martin, Julie Stanton, Gary Bussard, Bob Fleming, Jennifer Heard, Carla Riley, Don White, and Sondra Davis.
