Rock Port’s volleyball teams finished the week strong at home with a pair of wins over Union Star and Mound City.
Rock Port hosted Union Star Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017. The JV team defeated Union Star in two sets, 25-8 and 25-11.
The varsity team also won in two sets, 25-3 and 25-13. Leading the Jays in stats were: Aces – Kelcie Gaines, 8; Kills – Abbie Hale, 2; Digs – Riley Vogler, 1; and Assists – Kelcie Gaines, 2.

The varsity girls also won their match in two sets, 25-20 and 25-9. Leading the Jays in stats were: Aces – Riley Vogler, 2; Kills – Abbie Hale and Drue Kemerling, 3 each; Digs – Riley Vogler, 4; Blocks – Drue Kemerling and Abby Bradley, 2 each; and Assists – Abbie Hale and Kelcie Gaines, 6 each. The varsity team’s season record is 14-9, and 6-1 in the 275 Conference.
