The Tarkio Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for The Grainery, a new bar located at 119 N. 3rd Street in Tarkio, on Friday, July 18, 2025. Owner Dena Wennihan, pictured above with her husband, Mike, family members, chamber members, and friends, did the honors.

Hoot & Holler in Tarkio made the vinyl lettering for The Grainery’s countertop, which with a shimmery coat, adds a nice view of the bar, which also includes pictures on the wall honoring Dena’s friends, the late Veronica Holecek and Kris Traughber.

The Grainery is a nonsmoking bar, but the Wennihans converted a garage on the northeast side of the building to an open air smoking area.
