Sarah “Sally Barker” Turner, the daughter of Dennis and Helen (Lindsay) Long, was born April 8, 1942, in Tarkio, Missouri. She attended Tarkio High School, graduating in 1960.

On August 16, 2017, Sarah was united in marriage to David Turner. She made her home in Tarkio until moving to Nevada, Missouri, where she lived until the present time.

Sarah was a babysitter, caring for numerous local children in Atchison County. She was then employed by YSI Academy in Tarkio before being employed by Wildhorse Bar and Grill, where she was known for her amazing tenderloins. Sarah later worked for McDonald’s, where she retired.

Sarah was a member of Good News Church, Tarkio. She enjoyed cooking. Sarah passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at her home in Nevada, at the age of 83.

Besides her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by brother, Jim Bob Barker, and niece, Heidi Barker. Survivors include husband, David Turner; sisters, Peggy Smith and Penny Romano; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2025, at Home Cemetery, Tarkio. Pastor Cathy Riggins will conduct the service. Open visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio. There is no scheduled family visitation. Memorials may be directed to Good News Church, Tarkio, Tarkio Nutrition Center, or the Sally Barker Educational Trust. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
