Robert Glen Gonzalez, the son of Eddie Gonzalez and Lynn Wagner, was born July 19, 1963, in Los Angeles, California. He attended McMinnville High School, McMinnville, Oregon, graduating in 1982. On February 27, 1985, Robert entered the United States Army, serving his country as an Army Ranger Medic. He received his honorable discharge on April 1, 1988.
On October 14, 1989, Robert was united in marriage to Ann R. Poppa and they became the parents of two children, Shayne and Olivia. They made their home in Tarkio, Missouri, until moving to Branson, Missouri, in 1993.
Robert proudly served for Western Taney County Fire Department as a firefighter and first responder. He retired in 2011. He also owned and operated numerous businesses, including construction, restaurants, and maintenance. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid Oregon Ducks fan. Most of all, he loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Robert passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at his home in Branson, at the age of 62.
Besides his mother, Lynn Wagner, Robert was preceded in death by sister, Cheryl Gonzalez, and numerous aunts and uncles. Survivors include wife, Ann Gonzalez, Branson; children, Shayne (Ashley) Gonzalez, and Olivia Gonzalez, both of Branson, Jamie Mullinex, and Joshua Parton; grandchildren, Summer and Khloe Pollard, Briar Gonzalez, and Sephie Parton; father, Eddie Gonzalez; sisters, Lisa Cowan and Linda MacClanathan; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Shelley (Ronald) Thomson and Scott (Bobbi) Poppa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Monday, July 28, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Westboro, Missouri, conducted by Rev. Glenn Scott. Interment was at St. John’s Cemetery, Westboro. Military rites were under the auspices of Allen-Schiffern American Legion Post #199, Tarkio. Memorials may be directed to Robert Gonzalez Memorial Fund.
