The East Atchison Wolves and Rock Port Blue Jays went head-to-head in jr. high football action this past week in Rock Port. EA won the game 46-8. The Wolves scored 16 in the 1st quarter, 8 in the 2nd, 14 in the 3rd, and 8 in the 4th to Rock Port’s 8 in the 1st.
Wolf Kaylin Merriweather led EA with three touchdowns scored from eight rushes and 157 yards. Bo Graves added two touchdowns from two rushes and 79 yards. Carter Holecek scored one touchdown from a 12 yard pass. Josh Smith scored one touchdown, going 12 yards. Smith also had four rushes for five yards and Charlie Litherbury had one rush for 12 yards.
Merriweather and Graves led in tackles with 11 each. Merriweather had three tackles and eight assists and Graves had 11 assists. Other Wolves taking down the competition were: Smith with four tackles, four assists, two tackles for loss, and one fumble recovery; Braden Graves with three assists and one tackle for loss; Holecek with four tackles, two assists; Litherbury with two tackles and three assists; Aaron Schlueter with three tackles, six assists, and two tackles for loss; Jesse Navin with one assist; Tony Skeen with three tackles, one assist, three tackes for loss, and one forced fumble; Cameron Oswald with one tackle and two assists; and Jared Stanton with one assist.
