This fall’s “Friends of Tarkio College” are Lori and Mark Staten, Gary and Carla Riley, Jana Hessemeyer, Jason Sutter, and The Atchison County Mail. These individuals and businesses have been key contributors to the growth of the Tarkio College campus and Tarkio Tech’s success.
Lori and Mark Staten have contributed countless hours of volunteer labor and hundreds of dollars of printing projects through their business, Hoot and Holler, to many Tarkio Tech projects. In addition, Lori has provided her talents in designing many of Tarkio Tech’s printing projects.
Gary and Carla Riley have shared their time and their resources with Tarkio Tech during the past few years. They have provided both indoor furniture for Jenison Student Residence and outdoor furniture for the students’ patio area. Gary also provides automotive services for the campus vehicle through his business, Riley’s Service.
Along with being a faithful Tarkio College Board member, Jana Hessemeyer has been a key contributor to the college’s financial needs. In addition, she lends her experience as a CFO to the school’s accounting department through her service on the Tarkio College Board’s Finance Committee. She is also a regular participant in the annual campus clean-up days.
Jason Sutter provides lawn care for Tarkio College through his company, Sutter, LLC. He and his wife, Tina, have also been participants in the clean-up days, hauling off loads of scrap metal and providing the college with some significant income.
The Atchison County Mail has been a key partner of Tarkio Tech since its opening. In the school’s initial years, the newspaper was its primary source of publicity. They have been involved in almost every one of the school’s print projects. W.C.’s designing talents have also been a huge asset to the school.
Tarkio College/Tarkio Tech is grateful to all donors and volunteers from the community. Without them, the school’s growth and success would not be possible.
