The Tarkio Rural Fire Protection District has lowered its 2025 tax rate from 40 to 20 cents per 100 dollars valuation. Due to the tax revenue coming into the district from entities such as the wind farms and due to the recent increase in tax assessments, the district wanted to help relieve some of the taxpayers’ burden.
