• Showing at the Fair Theatre in Fairfax: “The Outriders” with Joel McCrea and Arlene Dahl, “Nancy Goes To Rio” with Jane Powell, Ann Sothern, and Carmen Miranda, and “Side Street.”
• Guests of Mr. and Mrs. C.O. Van Gundy from Oakland, California, experienced some interesting weather while visiting Fairfax. Mr. and Mrs. Venton Van Gundy first saw sunshine, then an electrical storm that turned out the lights and had lightning striking the back of the C.O. Van Gundy home hog house and barn. The supper had to be finished by the light of the oil lamp and lantern.
• Three records were made at the Fairfax Community Hospital last Thursday night and Friday morning when the first set of twins were born in the hospital, when four babies were born in one night, and when eight babies were in the nursery, the largest number that has been in the hospital at one time. The twin girls were born to Mr. and Mrs. James Stanley of Tarkio. The other two babies born that night were also girls, born to Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Mitchell and Mr. and Mrs. John Carlson.

• The Fairfax Bulldogs beat the South Holt Knights 20-0 last Friday night on the Oregon field.
• Funeral services for Edward Grush were held September 26 at Schooler Funeral Home. Joseph Edward Grush was born May 5, 1887, in Atchison County, where he spent his lifetime. He was a farmer for a number of years before becoming the custodian at Fairfax school and the post office. He was loved by all the children at the school.
• Timothy Hurst is the new chief laboratory technician at Community Hospital Association. He replaces Mrs. Elaine Golden. He was born in San Jose, Costa Rica, and attended the American School in Tequcigala, Hondurus.
• Mr. and Mrs. Charles Moore have purchased the former Park Leather building from Richard L. Pearce. Mr. Moore plans to use the building to close out his oil business operation and Henry Moore will also use part of the office space.

• Fairfax City Hall was broken into late Monday evening, September 25, or early Tuesday morning, September 26. File cabinets were ransacked, as well as the desks. Simmons MFA was also burglarized at that same time. An undetermined amount of cash, tires, and batteries are missing.
• The Fairfax Marching Pride traveled to Shenandoah, Iowa, on Saturday, September 23, to compete in the annual Shenandoah Parade. The Fairfax Marching Pride placed 1st in Class A, beating out five others.
• The Fairfax High School football homecoming will take place Friday, September 29. Homecoming queen and king candidates are Ashley Hawkins, Casondra Morton, Stephanie Beck, Kyle Rentschler, Matt Coleman, and Jim Pinnell.
• Melissa and James Gilpin are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Shanna Marie Gilpin, born September 20 at Community Hospital Association in Fairfax.
