Family members flew to San Diego, California, to attend Private First Class Bryon Ohlensehlen’s graduation from U.S. Marine Corps boot camp.
Private First Class Bryon U. Ohlensehlen, 18, of Fairfax Missouri, graduated from United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California, on September 12, 2025. Pfc. Ohlensehlen successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD San Diego as one the the recruits in Training Platoon 1054. Following 10 days home on leave he reported to Camp Pendleton for one month at military combat training. Pfc. Ohlensehlen will then attend Military Occupation Specialty School.
Bryon is the son of Josh and LeAnn Ohlensehlen of Fairfax; grandson of Guy and Melinda Graves of Fairfax and Dennis and Debbie Ohlensehlen of Mound City; great-grandson of Jim and Ruthie Steele and Mary Belle Carter, all of Mound City; and the late Mary Graves of Fairfax.
A group of 13 family members flew to San Diego for Bryon’s graduation, including his parents, sisters (Anna and Emma Ohlensehlen), both sets of grandparents, his aunt Nikki Graves of Rock Port, and his aunt, uncle and cousins, Jacob and Amanda Ohlensehlen (from Springfield, Missouri).
Bryon’s father, Josh Ohlensehlen, and uncle, Jacob Ohlensehlen, are both Marine Corps veterans.
