William Charles Maddox was recently presented with a Quilt of Valor, made by members of the Missouri Freedom Quilters.

The Missouri Freedom Quilters presented a Quilt of Valor to William Charles Maddox Friday, October 24.

He served in the United States Army from December 1987 to September 1989. He went through boot camp at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and was stationed at AIT Kleber in Kaiserslautern, Germany. He served as a heavy wheel vehicle mechanic 63S.

This was the 160th Quilt of Valor made by the Missouri Freedom Quilters for local veterans. These quilts are registered to Quilts of Valor with the recipient’s name. The group operates solely on donations to their project. They have been able to do this through the generous donations of businesses and individuals in and around our community. If you know of a local veteran who has not yet received a Quilt of Valor, call Sharon Groff at 660-744-2544 or Jean Mensen at 660-744-4885.
