I am doing a Bible Study right now called “Finding I AM. How Jesus Fully Satisfies the Cry of Your Heart” by Lysa Terkeurst. This Bible study explores the I AM statements from Jesus in the Bible, and we take a deeper look into them.
The I AM statements are these: I AM the Bread of Life. I AM the Light of the World. I AM the Gate. I AM the Good Shepherd. I AM the Resurrection and the Life. I AM the Way and the Truth and The Life. I AM the True Vine.
In these statements Jesus is declaring that He is all we will ever need. That God is the source of life through His Provision. Right now we are in very uncertain times, and we rely heavily on our government to take care of our needs, but we have forgotten that God will provide all our needs if we go to Him if we seek Him. You might think, “How would God feed my family?”
The Bible says in Matthew 6:25-34, “Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow? They do not labor or spend. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you – you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Jesus is saying Our Father knows our needs and He will meet them. “Trust in The Lord and in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight.” Proverbs 3:5
The Lord is our Provider, and we must get back to a place where we seek Him and trust Him more than we seek the world or trust in it, because it will fail and God never fails.
We have a wonderful food pantry which is a labor of love and was birthed out of love from the Father for this community, God using people to feed other people. The Lord sees our struggles and our needs. Trust that if you go to Him, He will show you the way.
I pray blessings and peace to each one of you as you seek the Lord.
