Heather Howell of Fairfax, Missouri, is the new Postmaster at the Rock Port, Missouri, Post Office. Her Postmaster duties began November 15, 2025, at the local office, where she oversees seven employees.

Heather has worked for the United States Postal Service for 20 years. She started carrying mail in Mound City in 2005, where she also clerked. She has also clerked in Essex, Iowa, and Tarkio, St. Joseph, and Westboro, Missouri. She was the Officer In Charge in Rock Port and Graham, Missouri, as well as in Auburn and Tecumseh, Nebraska. She was the Postmaster in Clearmont, Missouri, from 2008 to 2013 and in Burlington Junction, Missouri, from 2013 until she took the Postmaster job in Rock Port.

Heather is not a stranger to Atchison County, having lived here most of her life. She graduated from Tarkio High School and has three children and two grandchildren. But for those who don’t know her, feel free to stop by the Rock Port Post Office and say hello!
