Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantry
The Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantry is currently low on the following items: vegetables (15 oz. – canned potatoes, cut green beans, French style green beans, mixed vegetables, whole kernel corn, cream style corn, peas, carrots, kraut), tomatoes (diced, diced chili ready, tomato sauce, rotel), pasta (ramen noodles, macaroni, medium egg noodles, spaghetti), grape juice (64 oz.), cereal, brownie mix, sugar (5 lbs.), Hamburger Helper, boxed potatoes (au gratin, scalloped), frozen pizzas, and toilet paper.
The board members will open the pantry from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on December 11, 16, and 18.
In December, coupons for hams will be distributed according to the family size. Families of one to three will receive a coupon for half of a ham. Families with four or more will receive a coupon for a whole ham. Clients must take their coupons to the Tarkio Hy-Vee to be redeemed.
If schools are closed due to inclement weather, the food pantry is also closed. If the schools experience a two-hour delay, the food pantry will delay opening until 10:00 to noon.
Donations to the food pantry, especially monetary donations, are always appreciated. Donations may be sent to Anita Sutter, treasurer, at 26287 290th Street, Fairfax, MO 64446.
The food pantry is located at 315 Main Street in Tarkio.
Rock Port Food Pantry
The Rock Port Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry is low on the following items, organized by church:
Baptist Church – All-purpose flour (5 lbs.), granular sugar (4 lbs.), vegetable oil (48 oz. or less), boxed macaroni and cheese
Christian Church – Toothpaste, toothbrushes (single packaged), men’s and women’s deodorant, men’s and women’s disposable razors, men’s and women’s shaving cream
Lutheran Church – Men’s and women’s shampoo, men’s and women’s conditioner, ramen noodles, ketchup, ranch dressing, salt, honey, canned ravioli, and canned SpaghettiOs
Methodist Church – Toilet paper (case), paper towels (case), cereal (Cheerios, corn flakes, Raisin Bran), pancake mix, syrup
Grace Church – Laundry soap (56 oz. or less), vegetables (peas, sliced carrots, mixed vegetables, diced tomatoes, spinach – no corn or green beans)
The food pantry will be open Friday, December 12, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday, December 16, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.; and Friday, December 26, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.
Donations can be taken to the Rock Port United Methodist Church, 211 W. Opp, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and placed in the shopping cart. Monetary donations may be mailed to the Rock Port Ministerial Alliance, P.O. Box 164, Rock Port, MO 64482.
