The percussionists did a fantastic job of not only keeping the beat in some very fast and difficult songs, but also showed off their skills in several solos.

The combined bands of Fairfax, Tarkio, and Rock Port sounded amazing playing as one, performing “Afterburn,” “A Renaissance Revel,” “Too Beautiful For Words,” “A March On King’s Highway,” and “Celtic Air And Dance.”

The girls in the choir had several lovely parts while singing a “Wicked Medley.”

The boys and girls also joined their voices together to sing “America, Of Thee I Sing.”

This year’s guest conductor for Atchison County Band Day was Joe Schreimann. Mr. Schreimann is in his fourth year as music instructor at State Fair Community College.
