The Atchison County Commission met Thursday, April 9, 2026. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, North District Commissioner Jim Quimby, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, and Okema Galston, Administrative Assistant of the Commission. Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission, was absent.
Presiding Commissioner Livengood called the meeting to order.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Bills were reviewed and approved for payment.
Month-end department reports were reviewed and approved.
March additions and abatements to the tax books were approved as follows:
Personal Property – March 2026: Additions to the tax books were: 2025, $5,369.29; 2024, $3,406.37; and 2023, $598.53. Abatements to the tax books were: 2025, $555.09.
There were no additions or abatements to the March 2026 real property or ag rock tax books.
Road and Bridge Supervisor Kenny Wallace met with the commission to discuss departmental updates. They are going to start laying rock next week.
Director Wiley had sent the corrected written contact from INdigital updating the CAD at 911 to VOIP for the commission’s final approval and signature. The commissioners voted to approve the agreement for signing. The agreement was signed by Presiding Commissioner Livengood.

Assessor Rochelle Long was in to discuss the 2026-2027 maintenance plan with the commission.
