The Atchison County Commission met Thursday, May 7, 2026. Present at the meeting were: Curtis Livengood, Presiding Commissioner; Jim Quimby, North District Commissioner; Richard Burke, South District Commissioner; and Okema Galston, Administrative Assistant of the Commission. Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission, was attending the MAC Legislative Conference.

Presiding Commissioner Livengood called the meeting to order.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Bills were reviewed and approved for payment.

Matt Stine with MoDOT was in to give updates on current and upcoming state highway repairs.

The commissioners reviewed a recommendation to appoint Allison Cherry to fill one of the empty spots that Atchison County has on the Northwest Missouri Regional Council of Governments Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC). The voted unanimously to appoint Allison Cherry to fill a position on the TAC. There is still one spot vacant and the commissioners are waiting to hear from a possible candidate.
