One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 29 in Atchison County Monday morning, May 25, 2026.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the accident occurred in Atchison County on northbound I-29 at the 124-mile-marker, four miles south of Hamburg, Iowa, at 11:50 a.m. A 2019 Nissan Atlas, driven by a 26-year-old female from Gretna, Nebraska, was northbound on I-29 when it changed lanes and began to slow. The Nissan was struck in the rear driver’s side by a 2015 Audi AS6, driven by a 20-year-old male from Blair, Nebraska. The Nissan traveled into the median, where it came to rest on its wheels facing east. The Audi also came to rest in the median on its wheels facing north.

The driver of the Nissan, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken by Hamburg EMS to Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg for treatment of minor injuries. The other driver did not report any injuries at the scene. The Audi was totaled and the Nissan sustained moderate damage and both were towed from the scene by Double M Towing.

The accident was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper C.R. Kinman, who was assisted by the Atchison County Sheriff’s Office and Hamburg EMS.
