The Rock Port High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) held an awards ceremony May 6, 2026, to honor its members. Karlie Gebhards, president, welcomed everyone attending.
The Rock Port FBLA Chapter was recognized as one of the top chapters in Missouri receiving the Gold Level in the Chapter of the Year program as well as at the national level earning a Gold Level Champion Chapter.
Jaxson Smith, vice-president, presented Membership Awards. New members were Grady Cook, Grant Spiegel, Stevie Gaines, Ryzer Hale, Lily Lager, Reese Herron, Tennyson Lansdown, Leah Meyerkorth, Bentley Teten, Jaylynn Jones, Aniyah Williams, Sophie Storm, Rush Lewis, Chance Hayes, Westyn Amthor, Maddie Wilroy, and Jack Meyerkorth. Continuing second and third year members were Audrie Meyerkorth, Alex Schuster, Alyssa Brion, Braylyn Wood, Brylea Shrader, Desmond Chaney, Gabe Gebhards, Jaxson Smith, Karlie Gebhards, Kinley Lair, Logan Ellis, Olivia Roup, Raylynn Jenkins, Reid Ellis, Skylar Stoner, Talyn Amthor, Zoey Zach, Case Millsap, Declan McRaven, Landrey Kelly, Tatum Vogler, and Emma Teten. Four-year members were Ella Meyerkorth, Dylan Lair, Jacoby Driskell, Tayden Cook, and Keira Roup.
Mrs. Parsons recognized the FBLA Chapter Officers: Karlie Gebhards, president; Jaxson Smith, vice-president; Emma Teten, treasurer; Ella Meyerkorth, secretary; Jacoby Driskell, reporter/historian; and Gabe Gebhards, Student Council Representative.
The Rock Port FBLA members competed in the District 1 Leadership Conference. Ella Meyerkorth recognized the following for placing in the top five: Sophie Storm, Accounting, second place; Karlie Gebhards, Introduction to FBLA, fifth place; Talyn Amthor and Jaylynn Jones, Introduction to Social Media Strategy, fifth place; Jaxson Smith, Introduction to Business Procedures, seventh place; Stevie Gaines, Grant Spiegel, and Leah Meyerkorth, Introduction to Business Presentation, first place; Dylan Lair, Agribusiness, third place; and Gabe Gebhards, Insurance and Risk Management, fourth place.
The Business Achievement Awards is a leadership development program. The Contributor Level focuses on basic business skills, introducing the members to community service and emphasizing the importance of FBLA involvement. Jacoby Driskell recognized the following members earning their Contributor Level this year: Jack Meyerkorth, Jaxson Smith, Leah Meyerkorth, Gabe Gebhards, and Grady Cook. The Leader Level focuses on introducing students to leadership concepts necessary to succeed as community-minded business leaders in a global economy. Leah Meyerkorth earned her Leader level this year.
Mrs. Parsons recognized the members who have earned the most points in the chapter’s points system. Jaxson Smith earned 310 points and was named the Chapter Officer recipient. The member recipient was Grant Spiegel with 220 points.
Karlie then led the chapter in inducting the new officers. The 2026-2027 officers are: Karlie Gebhards and Jaxson Smith, co-president; Grant Spiegel, secretary; Sophie Storm, treasurer; and Leah Meyerkorth, reporter/historian.
Refreshments were served following the ceremony, and a variety of chapter activities were on display.
