Summer is in full swing! Rock Port Senior Center is full of fun this summer. Oak Pointe of Maryville hosted an ice cream social here at the center. They have also offered to host a bingo session and provide prizes and possibly host a banana split themed event. Stephanie Reed provided all supplies needed and socialized with our clients as though she had been a regular. It was a fun event and we look forward to seeing her again.

Don’t forget to come in Thursday, July 2, for our 4th of July dinner. We will be serving root beer floats to in-house diners. We wish all to have a safe and happy Independence Day as we celebrate our country’s 250th birthday!

Bingo prizes are needed! Rock Port Senior Center hosts bingo twice a month on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. We appreciate all donations and contributions to this event. Our seniors get to socialize, strategize, and just plain have a little fun before lunch!

We are beginning a new contract year with the Northwest Missouri Area Agency on Aging, Young at Heart Resources. With that comes expected changes and new guidelines. As we roll out new changes, understand any changes or requests from the center are to remain in compliance with state and federal guidelines to continue to receive funding from them. If you have any questions, feel free to speak with Maria.

More events are coming soon. Fundraising booths at the Fairfax Fair and Old Fashioned Saturday Night, and the fish fry are all on the agenda. We are still taking donations for our Meal Champion Program. For more information about how you can donate, see Maria. We are very grateful to have such a generous community that supports what we do.
