Tarkio Parks & Rec to host triathlon in Tarkio August 8

The Tarkio Parks & Recreation board is hosting its first ever triathlon event in Tarkio. On Saturday, August 8, 2026, competitors will meet at 7:00 a.m. at the Tarkio Municipal Pool. The event will include swimming .47 miles at the pool, then biking 12.4 miles south of town and then back, and running 3.1 miles east of town out by the airport and back.

Registration can be found on the Tarkio Parks & Recreation Facebook page. Three-man teams are $150 or it is $60 for individuals. Volunteers are needed to help make this event a success. Check the Facebook page for more info or contact board members Paige Agnew, Karly Hicks and Ashlee Driskell.
