South Dakota State announces spring 2026 graduates

South Dakota State University, Brookings, South Dakota, recently announced that Oliver Smith, Fairfax, Missouri, has graduated following the spring 2026 semester.

Smith graduated with a Bachelor of Science from SDSU’s Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering.

More than 1,600 students completed all requirements for a degree and/or certificate program. Overall, students from 32 states and 27 nations graduated, and more than 90 students received two or more degrees or certificates from a college.

Amelia Larson selected for Teacher Scholars Academy

Amelia Larson, Fairfax, Missouri, a recent graduate of Fairfax R-3 High School, has been selected to the newest cohort of the Teacher Scholars Academy in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s College of Education and Human Sciences. Students in the academy are engaged in a supportive learning community throughout their teacher-education program.

Larson plans to major in elementary education and special education (K-6).

The academy, established in 2019, is designed to prepare teachers who will continue to grow and develop beyond their degree. To date, 133 new teachers have graduated from the academy.
