Rock Port Food Pantry

The Rock Port Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry is low on the following items: Stuffing mix, saltine crackers, peas, carrots, spinach, mixed vegetables, tomatoes, instant mashed potatoes, Minute Rice, chili, beef stew, pancake mix, syrup, cooking oil, chili beans, pasta sauce, tomato sauce, pineapple, fruit cocktail, SPAM, canned chicken, peanut butter, grape jelly, cake mix (chocolate, white, yellow), fudge brownie mix, cherry Jell-O, and strawberry Jell-O.

The food pantry will be open Friday, August 14, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday, August 18, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon; Friday, August 28, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.

Donations can be taken to the Rock Port United Methodist Church, 211 W. Opp, Rock Port, Missouri, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and placed in the shopping cart. Monetary donations may be mailed to the Rock Port Ministerial Alliance, P.O. Box 164, Rock Port, MO 64482. If you would like to volunteer, contact Rebecca Liess at 660-253-3535.

Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantry

The Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantry is currently low on the following items: fruits (15-20 oz. – mixed fruit, peaches, pears, pineapple, mandarin oranges), apple juice (64 oz.), cake mixes (chocolate or white), flour (5 lbs.), creamy peanut butter (16 oz.), Hamburger Helper, Jello and instant pudding (small boxes), pork and beans, canned pasta (beefaroni, SpaghettiOs), frozen pizzas, and laundry detergent.

Tarkio Presbyterian Church will open the pantry in August. The food pantry is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. the third and fourth weeks of each month. The pantry is also open the third Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Volunteers to help open the food pantry are always appreciated as it takes many workers to keep this important mission to our communities open. Monetary donations have slowed down during the summer months. It takes approximately $3,500 per month to stock the shelves, and the food pantry functions completely by donations, which are always appreciated. Donations may be sent to Anita Sutter, treasurer, at 26287 290th Street, Fairfax, MO 64446.

The food pantry is located at 315 Main Street in Tarkio, Missouri.
