After more than four decades in the insurance industry and nearly 40 years serving the Rock Port community, Jim Clodfelter will retire on August 31, marking the conclusion of a career dedicated to both his clients and the community he calls home.

A 1973 graduate of Rock Port High School, Jim attended Northwest Missouri State University before beginning his insurance career in 1983 in Kimball, Nebraska. He spent four years working in western Nebraska before returning to Rock Port in 1987 to establish his own insurance agency, Clodfelter Insurance.

Throughout his career, Jim has remained committed to professional excellence. In 1993, he earned the respected Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation from The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research. He is licensed in Property, Casualty, Life, and Health Insurance in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, and Colorado.

While Jim’s professional accomplishments are impressive, he is equally known for his unwavering commitment to community service. He has served as president of the Rock Port Chamber of Commerce and Grace Community Church, and serves on the Rock Port Salvation Army Board of Directors. He also previously served as president of the Atchison County Development Corporation, was a member of the Rock Port School Board, and volunteered with the local fire department.

Together with his wife, Alma, Jim founded Rock Port Outreach Ministry and has helped lead many mission teams to El Salvador, extending his commitment to service beyond the local community.

A retirement reception will be held Friday, August 28, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Riverstone Insurance Group office at 205 S. Main Street in Rock Port. Friends, clients, family members, and community members are invited to stop by and celebrate his years of service and wish Jim well in his retirement.
