One person sustained moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 4:45 a.m. The driver, from Kansas City, Missouri, was northbound on I-29 at mile marker 102 driving a 2020 Kenworth. The vehicle traveled off the west side of the roadway, impacted a guard rail and traveled down the embankment, coming to rest facing north.

The driver, age unknown, was wearing a seat belt. He was transported to Mosaic in St. Joseph, Missouri, by Atchison-Holt Ambulance. The truck was totaled in the accident and towed from the scene by Double M.
