The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work the Missouri Department of Transportation has planned in Atchison County for the week of August 24-30.

MoDOT asks drivers to buckle up, put your phone down, slow down and move over in work zones.

U.S. Route 136 – Bridge maintenance at the bridge over Interstate 29,  September 8-11. The bridge will be narrowed to one lane around-the-clock with temporary traffic signals and a 14-foot width restriction.

U.S. Route 46 – Resurfacing project from U.S. Route 59 to Nodaway River (Nodaway County) through November 2026. The road will be narrowed to one lane, and a 10-foot width restriction will be in place.

I-29 northbound – Bridge maintenance at the U.S. Hwy. 136 bridge, Sept. 8-9. The interstate will be narrowed to one lane from the 110.4 mile marker to the 111.2 mile marker, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

I-29 southbound – Bridge maintenance at the U.S. Hwy. 136 bridge, Sept. 10. The interstate will be narrowed to one lane from the 111.2 mile marker to the 110.4 mile marker, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
