The Atchison County 911 and Emergency Management Office in Rock Port, Missouri, is celebrating 25 years of serving the public. They will be recognizing first responders with a cookout and holding an open house for the public in the month of October.

An open house will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, October 13 and 14, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the office, located at 472 Rainbow Drive (back west lot behind the nursing home). Stop by and tour the newly updated facility, dine on free snacks and refreshments, and sign up to get emergency notifications on your phone while you are there.

A cookout honoring Atchison County firemen, law enforcement, first responders, and Atchison-Holt ambulance crews will be held Friday, October 16, at the office. Social hour will start at 4:00 p.m. with food being served from 5:00 p.m. to dusk. Bring your lawn chairs and your appetite. There will also be musical entertainment. All Atchison County emergency service crews and their families are invited.
