Help C.A.R.E. light Atchison County purple for Domestic Violence Awareness Month this October. Call C.A.R.E. at 660-744-9966 to purchase a purple light bulb for $5.00. You can also visit Rogers Pharmacy or Gas Spot in Tarkio; Stoner Drug, Perfect 10, or Trail’s End in Rock Port; or Fertilizer Service Company in Fairfax. These locations also have donation jars with purple pinwheels. All proceeds will go to aid victims of domestic violence

This year’s pinwheel display is at the four-way intersection in Rock Port in front of Farm Bureau and Tulsa Rose. Its 100 pinwheels represent a domestic violence victim who worked with C.A.R.E. in 2025.

Together, those 100 victims received 1,596 support services from the victim advocates and 76 hours of counseling from licensed professional counselors.

Show your support by wearing purple throughout October, especially on Purple Thursday, October 15, 2026.
