Rotarians all over the world celebrated World Polio Day on October 24, 2026. For more than 30 years, Rotary and its partners have driven the effort to eradicate polio worldwide. Rotary members have contributed more than $2 billion and countless volunteer hours to protect nearly three billion children in 122 countries from this paralyzing disease. Afghanistan and Pakistan are the last countries to continue to report cases of wild poliovirus. As long as polio exists anywhere, it remains a threat everywhere. Rotary is committed to finish and optimistic that polio can be completely eliminated.
