Scott Nielson, athletic department representative of Northwest Missouri State University, was the guest speaker at the November 6, 2018, meeting of the Tarkio Rotary Club. He spoke of the Bearcat Booster Club and the help they have given student athletics with the purchase of speed monitoring devices for track, baseball and soft ball and ball launchers for the soccer team.

Of special interest to the Rotarians were the examples of new helmets that the booster club helped purchase for the football team. The helmets are the latest technology to protect against concussions. He also shared an invitation to see the Hughes Field House that has a 300 meter track and 100 yards of turf for use by athletic teams.
